A bold, all-female cast imagines the untold musical story of women in Shakespeare’s time, forbidden from the stage but rich with talent and ambition. Inspired by the Bard’s daughter, Judith Shakespeare, her creative ambitions come alive as she leads a group of women in something secret, subversive and illegal: the staging of a play. With wit and rebellion, the women challenge history itself—and demand to be heard. Miss Shakespeare was the recipient of the 2016 Jessie Richardson Theatre Award
for “Outstanding Production”.
Recommended for ages 16 and up.
