About “The Princess and the Handmaiden”
This delightful family musical is about loyalty, friendship, magic potions and talking sheep! When the Princess is sent on a mission outside of her castle walls, the Handmaiden called to accompany her challenges their friendship amidst a dark and dangerous forest. Touching on themes of love, responsibility, persistence and being true to oneself, this story will delight theatregoers of all ages. Originally commissioned and produced by Toronto’s Young People’s Theatre. Nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding New Play or Musical. 🇨🇦
Recommended for ages 5 and up.
The Princess and the Handmaiden runs November 21–December 7, 2025, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2pm.
For the run of The Princess and the Handmaiden, The South Simcoe Theatre will be holding a food drive. We will have a table in the theatre lobby for canned non-perishables donations, and will accept cash donations as well at each show to be distributed to local food banks.
