What goes on in this Workshop?

In the beginning stages of learning how to read music, we will get to cover exactly what someone who loves to perform in musicals but cannot read music needs to learn. It’s designed to help an actor/singer follow along the score and allow them to connect better with the music. This will help them better understand the text, where the emphasis is placed, and how to fit in with everyone in an ensemble. Each day we will be tackling a new aspect of music reading that feeds from one lesson to the next. On the final day, there will be a chance for everyone to be given tools to help guide them along and apply their knowledge to future musicals and reading music!

Day 1 - Understanding the staff

Day 2 - Rhythm and Meter

Day 3 - Time signatures

Day 4 - Combining all aspects together

Maximum of 30 participants. Ages 16+ welcome.
