February 28 - March 16, 2025 Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2pm
at The South Simcoe Theatre, 1 Hamilton Street, Cookstown, Ontario.
Cast members are required to be available for all performance dates without exception and for tech and dress rehearsals (Tech Day Sunday, February 23rd, Dress Rehearsal Tues., February 25th and Preview Wed., February 26th).

Audition Details:
No audition pieces required for the audition. We will read some scenes from the play in pairs.
About:
Having Hope at Home is a Canadian comedy that takes place on a cold winter night in a crumbling old Ontario farmhouse. The central character, Carolyn, is trying to reconcile with her parents over a formal dinner with “help” from her spouse and grandfather. Unfortunately, she’s also just gone into labour!

Jane (Carolyn’s mother) 40s – 60s

Rehearsal Information
Rehearsals will start on Sunday, December 8, 2024 and will run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm to 10pm and Sunday afternoons from 1pm to 5pm with some exceptions.
We will add Sunday evenings 6pm to 9pm as of February 2nd, 2025.
You may not be called to all rehearsals, but you must be available for all rehearsals to which you are called, especially during the final weeks prior to opening.
You must be available for Tech and Dress Rehearsals and for all performances (dates above).
Cast members will be asked to declare any potential rehearsal date conflicts on the audition form and this will be taken into consideration when casting. NB: If you are cast, and your conflict dates change substantially from the information provided at the time of casting in such a way that it interferes with your ability to attend rehearsals regularly, The South Simcoe Theatre reserves the right to withdraw the casting offer.
Health & Safety
In keeping with Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit guidelines, this theatre will comply with any mandated health regulations.
