A heart-warming musical for the entire family based on the Peanuts Comic Strip by Charles Schulz
Characters (Casting Actors Ages 18+):
Charlie Brown: Baritone (Bb3 to F4) Charlie Brown is kind, patient, loyal and determined. He wears his heart on his sleeve. Though he loves helping others, he can’t seem to help himself.
Lucy Van Pelt: Mezzo-Soprano (G3 to F5) Lucy can be bossy or crabby, but she gives good advice and looks out for her brother, Linus. She is also very confident, strong, and positive. Her biggest weakness is that she is madly in love with Schroeder who isn’t interested in her.
Linus Van Pelt: Baritone (Bb3 to E4) Linus is a very respectful, thoughtful person who is often the only voice of reason among his friends. He studies philosophy and is a deep thinker.
Schroeder: Tenor (Bb3 to Ab4) Schroeder is a musical genius who lives to play Beethoven. He can be a bit moody, but he loves being with his friends.
Snoopy: Tenor / Soprano (C3 to A5 / C4 to A6) Snoopy is not your average dog. They love to read and collect of art, and their incredible imagination keeps life very interesting. However, there is nothing they enjoy more than napping on their doghouse, only to wake up to their supper.
Sally Brown: Soprano (B4 to Ab5) Sally wants to know everything and asks all kinds of questions. Though she doesn’t totally understand her brother, Charlie Brown, she always turns to him when she needs help.
Show Dates:
November 3 – 19, 2023 on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2pm at The South Simcoe Theatre, 1 Hamilton Street, Cookstown, Ontario. Cast members are required to be available for all production dates without exception.
Audition Dates:
Wednesday, July 5 from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday, July 8 from 10 am to 12 pm. Please email Producers Mel Hinch (wammm@sympatico.ca) and Chris Randell (canonlinx@gmail.com) to book your spot. Submission deadline is Monday, July 3, 2023. Callbacks will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 11 am to 2 pm.
Audition Location:
In person at The South Simcoe Theatre, 1 Hamilton Street, Cookstown, Ontario.
Audition Details:
Please prepare a 32- bar excerpt (max of 2 min) of a musical theatre song that shows off your voice, personality and acting ability. Your singing will be followed by a movement exercise and a chat with the directors.
If you are unable to attend the audition dates above, video submissions will also be considered. Please mention this in your email of interest. Once approved by the Producers, we will request video submissions be uploaded to the candidates’ own YouTube page with the link provided to wammm@sympatico.ca and canonlinx@gmail.com.
Rehearsal Information:
Music rehearsals will begin Sunday, August 13, 2023 (exact days & times to be confirmed); staging rehearsals will begin Thursday, September 7, 2023. Rehearsals will be held Monday and Thursday evenings from 7-10pm plus Sunday afternoons from 2-5pm. Sunday evening rehearsals from 6-9pm will be added beginning September 24th. During tech week, dress rehearsals will be held on October 30th and 31st, with an invited dress rehearsal/preview on November 1st. Cast members must declare any potential rehearsal date conflicts on the audition form. This will be taken into consideration when casting.

In keeping with Town of Innisfil and other Government guidelines, this theatre will comply with any mandated COVID-19 health regulations. While not mandatory at this time, mask wearing may be encouraged at certain times during the rehearsal period.
