*NEW LONGER WORKSHOPS!*
Instructor - Scott Hurst
8-10 participants maximum
Dates & Times:
8 Classes - FRIDAY, January 5, 12, 19, 26, February 2, 9, 16 & 23 (7:00 - 9:30 pm)
Location:
The Town Hall, 1 Hamilton Street, Cookstown (Home of The South Simcoe Theatre) As an extension of the Acting Basics class, participants are paired up to prepare and present scenes that are written for two actors. Participants are encouraged to try new things without the pressure of deadlines and audience expectations. It also allows the participant the opportunity to observe others as they experiment and make new discoveries; it’s “play” at its best. Each week we may do an exercise chosen to offer us a new skill, or perspective, but the majority of time in each session will be devoted to the presentation and reworking of scenes. Time permitting, participants should be able to work on 2-3 scenes over the 6 weeks. Due to the nature of Scene Study participants will be encouraged to do some homework between classes. Each class is cumulative so regular attendance is recommended; and please keep in mind that your consistent attendance affects your scene partner as well as others in the class.
Investment:
20 hours of instruction for $140.00 (Subsidies may be available upon request)N.B. For all the classes Scott Hurst is teaching in January and February a portion of the proceeds will be donated directly to The South Simcoe Theatre as part of a Fundraising initiative.
