A romantic romp from New York to Vegas to Hawaii, this musical about saying “I do” is non-stop, laugh-out-loud fun. Follow Jack as he tries to live up to his promise to his dying mother that he will never marry, despite being in love with his girlfriend, Betsy. Add a sneaky gambler who likes Jack’s girlfriend, and you can just imagine the antics.

Characters (Casting Actors Ages 18+):
  • Jack Singer – 29 to early 40s (Tenor). The hero - a funny, high strung, superstitious guy with a deep-rooted fear of getting married, despite being in love with his girlfriend, Betsy. The ghost of his mother haunts him, reminding him of her dying wish that he never marry.

  • Betsy Nolan – 29 to early 40s (Soprano/Mezzo Soprano). She is Jack’s fiancé of 5 years. Betsy is a teacher with great patience and understanding, but she is getting impatient with Jack’s inability to commit to marriage.

  • Bea Singer – 50s to 70s (Mezzo Soprano) Jack’s mother. Being dead doesn’t keep her from continuing to play a central role in Jack’s life. Her ability to provoke massive guilt is breathtaking.

  • Buddy Rocky – 20s to 60s (Tenor/Baritone) A Las Vegas nightlife entertainer. A flashy talent who packs the Milano Hotel and Casino every night with his show stopping performances.

  • Tommy Korman – 40s to 60s (Baritone) A professional gambler with no discernible scruples. He sees something special in Betsy who bears an uncanny resemblance to his dead wife, Donna.

  • Johnny Sandwich – 40s to 60s (Baritone) Tommy’s right hand man. He is intensely loyal, prone to overeating and saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. He is not very intelligent, but that doesn’t both him at all.

  • Roy Bacon – 40s to 60s (Tenor/Baritone) Elvis Impersonator. Leader of the world famous Flying Elvises.

  • Mahi – 20s to 30s (Mezzo Soprano) Jack’s tour guide while in Hawaii. Playful, sexy, flirty and cunning. Tommy pays her to ensure Jack doesn’t find his way to Betsy while on the island.

  • Teihutu – 25 to 60s (Tenor/Baritone) “Hawaiian local” hired by Tommy. Supporting role with some vocal solos.

  • Raymond – 20s to 50s (Tenor/Baritone) The head of staff at Tommy’s Hawaiian estate. He is happy, attentive, kind, and reassuring.

  • Alex/Ensemble – Tommy’s “son” / Ensemble

  • Rose/Ensemble – Tommy’s “daughter-in-law” / Ensemble

  • Ensemble – 4 to 5 males and 4 to 5 females (various ages). The ensemble will be very busy! Many roles have dialogue and vocal solos.
