The South Simcoe Theatre is looking for Directors for our upcoming readings for Four Play: A Series
of Play Readings.
Four Play presents lightly rehearsed readings of a variety of works. Whether you are an experienced director or someone looking to try your hand at directing for the first time in a low-risk format, this could be for you! Please note that this is a volunteer opportunity.
Please send expressions of interest and any questions to the Four Play Committee at fourplay@thesouthsimcoetheatre.com.
Deadline: March 11, 2026.
Plays will be available for perusal upon request. Be sure to include your top three choices of shows in your expression of interest.
Auditions will be held in mid-April, with rehearsals in May. Four Play runs June 4–7, 2026. Rehearsal time in the SST space will be limited, so directors must be able to utilize their time in the rehearsal space effectively and organize rehearsals outside the space with their casts if necessary. Potential candidates are reminded that this is a reading and are encouraged to use narrators to read stage directions in place of blocking. Additionally, only basic technical elements will be available.
The South Simcoe Theatre encourages inclusion, representation, and accessibility in all its endeavors, both on stage and off. In that spirit, we encourage diversity in our casting and director selection process.
