Four Play!

April 30th, 2022 – 9AM Onward

Cookstown Curling Club – 18 Church Street, Cookstown

(Next To The Cookstown Library)

We’re looking for actors at all levels of experience for Four Play. This event presents lightly rehearsed readings of a variety of works. Whether you are an experienced actor looking for a new challenge or someone who has never been on stage, there is something for everyone!

PLEASE NOTE:  As is permitted under the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020 Regulation 364/20 The South Simcoe Theatre has elected to keep proof of vaccination and mask requirements in place for the remainder of the season (end of June). 

All participants will be required to provide proof of vaccination at the time of their audition and masks are to be worn at the Curling Club, as well as while in the Cookstown Town Hall building, except when performing, eating or drinking.

The South Simcoe Theatre encourages inclusion, representation, and accessibility in all its endeavours both on stage and off.  In that spirit, we encourage diversity in our casting process.

Two hit men discuss life, the universe and "sleeping with the fishes" - well, mammals.

 

Half Baked: Written by Trudee Romanek, Directed by Joey Ferguson (2 Males, 4 Females)

A group of twenty-somethings, already struggling to balance future success with present happiness, are tested when a mega-snowstorm throws more obstacles in their path.

The Out Of Town Girl: Written by Ron Davies, Directed by Rebecca Kratky (4 Males, 3 Females)

In a small Ontario town in the 1960s, a young couple are engaged to be married— but then Love upsets their plans.

Surrender Dorothy: Written by Liz Best, Directed by Chandra Pepper (5 Females)

A homage to female friendship. The “through thick and thin,” girlfriends who'll try anything together, including online dating.

 

Sunday June 5th at 2PM

Play-gued: Written by John Kenwell, Directed by Jo-Anne Pulfer (1 Male, 1 Female, 4 Undefined)

Combine a venerable theatre, a long-forgotten curse, and a bombastic spectre, and what results may answer the question: will we ever be able to laugh about spreading germs again?
