Character to be Cast
At this time, we are only looking for 1 Female Mezzo-Soprano, able to play ages 25-45
Audition Format
Candidate’s Choice of either: In-Person Audition on Friday, January 13, or Submitting a Video Auditions by Friday, January 13.
Candidates are asked to prepare a Sondheim song of their choice; it does not need to be lengthy, but it should show the candidate’s vocal range and, if possible, show their ability to tell a story. Candidates are required to bring their own accompaniment recording to in-person auditions as an accompanist will not be available; we will however provide a Bluetooth speaker. Rehearsal Information
Rehearsals begin on the afternoon of Sunday, February 12, with rehearsals on Monday and Thursday evenings; all rehearsals will be in Cookstown. The Technical Dress Rehearsal is on Sunday, April 30 and we have scheduled two full Dress Rehearsals on Monday, May 1 and Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Please let us know if you have any conflicts with these rehearsal dates.
Show Dates
May 4 to 21, 2023, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm at the Cookstown Town Hall (The South Simcoe Theatre), 1 Hamilton Street, Cookstown, Ontario. Cast members are required to be available for all production dates without exception.
Covid Policies
In keeping with Town of Innisfil and other Government guidelines, this theatre will comply with any mandated COVID-19 health regulations. While not mandatory at this time, mask wearing may be encouraged at certain times during the rehearsal period.
